Zero-upload, zero-knowledge processing

PaperlyPDF performs file operations entirely inside your browser on your computer or smartphone. Your PDFs, images, signatures, seals, and document contents are never uploaded or transferred to a PaperlyPDF server.

We do not store, log, inspect, or retain the files you open. Because the service never receives your documents, PaperlyPDF has no knowledge of their contents.

How local processing works

Modern JavaScript, WebAssembly-capable browser technology, PDF-lib, PDF.js, and client-side canvas APIs perform merging, splitting, watermarking, signing, rendering, and image conversion in memory within your browser session.

Background workers

Where supported, Web Workers run demanding tasks separately using your device’s local CPU. This helps keep the interface responsive while processing remains isolated on your device, without sending document data over the network.

Ephemeral browser memory

Files are handled in temporary local browser memory, or RAM, only while you work. This working data is discarded when you close or refresh the tab, end the browser session, or start over in a tool.

Cookies, preferences, and offline use

PaperlyPDF does not use tracking cookies to harvest personal information. Local storage is used only for preferences such as light or dark mode and temporary interface choices. The service worker caches application files needed for installation and offline use—not the documents you process.

Your documents remain under your control

Whether you work with legal documents, contracts, identity proofs, financial reports, or other sensitive material, PaperlyPDF follows data-minimization principles by default. No document data leaves your computer or smartphone, so you decide where files are opened, saved, and shared.
